Example of use: The August floods in the south of Sweden, 2014
The heavy rains in August that caused huge problems in many parts of Sweden, especially in the Halland region, where the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) issued a level 3 warning. The rain led to high water levels in the rivers Nissan and Suseån, which led to flooding mainly in the towns of Getinge, Kvibille, Sennan, Åstad and Oskarström.
The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) sent materials to protect the region from the floods. These consisted mainly of high capacity pumps, sandbags and 4,000 metres of flood barriers (the H80 from Inero).
The fire brigades, army and Home Guard efficiently installed all the material in threatened locations.
